Installing MeCanto PC Client

MeCanto PC Client download should automatically start within seconds. If it doesn't, restart the download.

Installing and running the application

• After download completes, run the downloaded setup file (MeCantoSetup.exe) and install the PC Client by going through the quick installation wizard.
• When the installation completes the application will start running automatically and you should see a question box asking you if you want to configure your music folders. Click the 'Yes' button. It should look something like this:
  
  
  If you don't see this window then the MeCanto PC Client isn't running. To start it, look for MeCanto in the Start menu and run it. From now on MeCanto will be started automatically each time you start your computer (you may configure this in the program settings window).

Specify music folders

The MeCanto PC Client needs to know where you store your music on your computer. It uses this information to monitor your music folders and upload new music to your MeCanto Account once you put it in that folder.

To let MeCanto know where your music is stored on your computer click the 'My Music' button in the PC Client's main screen. This will open the following window:

You should note that files that are uploaded to your MeCanto Account are not removed automatically even if you remove their original folder from the PC Client's music folders list. At this point it is not possible to remove files once uploaded. This feature will be added soon.

Login and rock!

After specifying music folders all you need to do to start updating your MeCanto Account is to login. To do this fill in your email and password (these should be the same email and password you used when creating your MeCanto Account. If you don't have one yet, click here to find out how to create your very own MeCanto Account). Then click the 'Login' button:

Once logged in the application will start uploading your music. It will continue to do so until all your music is uploaded, but you don't have to wait for the uploading to complete since the PC Client lets you listen to all your music from your MeCanto Account even before all the uploads are complete. Just login to your account at MeCanto.com and start listening to your music.
